Men’s Bible Study

The Zion Men’s Bible study is a group of men who gather for fellowship (including lots of coffee!) and study of the Scriptures at 6:30 AM each Friday.  All that is necessary is to show up; bring your own Bible, or one will be provided. We simply go verse-by-verse through various books of the Bible, trying to understand what the text said to its first readers, and what God says to us through it today. Our discussions are free, wide-ranging, stimulating, and fun.  This informal study group is wide open to any man who wishes to be a part of it.

Pathways Bible Camping Opportunities

Zion is a member of Pathways Bible Camp Corporation which operates three camps in northwestern Minnesota:  Lake of the Woods Bible Camp just north of Baudette situated on the Rainy River, Camp MinneWaKan near Cass Lake on Lake Andrusia, and Camp Emmaus near Menahga.  Pathways has loads of excellent programs to offer youth from grades K-12.  The Pathways camp brochure, available from the church office, lists all the programs with a brief description, the camp fees, and registration procedures.  The Women of Zion offer camperships to all campers who are members of Zion who attend a Pathways camp.  The campership amount is 1/2 of the cost, up to $50.

Blood Pressure Screenings

Free BP screenings are provided during Parish Nurse office hours by the Parish Nurse.

Service of Healing

A service of healing is offered periodically at Zion Lutheran Church.  The Parish Wellness Ministry assists with providing these services.  All who are hurting and in need of healing of body, mind, or spirit are encouraged to attend for anointing, laying on of hands, and prayers.

Living Well Workshop

Living Well Workshop is offered several times a year at Zion  Lutheran Church.  It is a free self-management workshop for people with any kind of ongoing health problem or for those who want to make positive changes now because they are at high risk for chronic conditions as they get older.  A variety of skills and coping actions are presented; participants choose the ones they want to use.  Support people or spouses are also welcome to register.  Contact the Parish Nurse with questions or to register for the next session.

Parish Nurse Office Hours

The Parish Nurse has scheduled office hours on Wednesday afternoons.  During this time, "walk-ins" are welcome to consult with the Parish Nurse regarding health related concerns.  The Parish Nurse is also available to meet with parishioners at other times as requested.  Please call the church office to schedule an alternate time.

Building Use Note

Policy and Request Forms for non-profit church or non-church groups to reserve and obtain use of building space are located in the church office.  Regular or reoccurring room requests need to be renewed quarterly (every 3 months).
